Recognized as one of America’s top DJs, Play Me Record‘s head honcho Reid Speed is back with another ground-shaking release. The electronic music mastermind enlists vocalist Burnheart for her biggest collaboration yet “Animal,” out now on Play Me Records. The vocal-driven trap, drum & bass hybrid fosters the LA-based producer’s tendency to craft an innovative sound that can only be identified with her name.
“…one day I saw Burnheart posting on facebook about how he was a vocalist and looking for projects to sing on. I sent him the instrumental and his first take was amazing. The song just felt complete! We had never worked together before, nor did I provide any instructions on what I was looking for, and yet he just vibed with the song and it came out magical.”
“Animal” is a reflection of the LA-based artist’s renegade character and unrelenting work ethic. It comprises her powerful basslines, grimy synths, and addicting melodies that reel listeners in at first listen. The single opens with Burnheart’s resonant voice before it takes an unexpected turn at the chorus, making a transformation as it builds into a dance floor thriller.
